Pepper is just the start of what you can do with this mill. You can grind salt, herbs, spices, and of course, pepper. And you can choose set it on 1 for a powder fine grind or 6 for a very coarse grind. It accomplishes this because it has a two-stage grinding mechanism. The first chamber prepares the spice by grinding it coarsely. It then passes through the second chamber for as coarse or as fine a grind as you would like. The cool part is that once you've selected the setting you like you never have to readjust it. It will even keep the settings when you refill it, which is also easy to do.
