The cheese knife was invented in the 1940s when an American engineer grew tired of his favorite cheese sticking to his knife when he cut it. The cheese he favored was Velveeta. Luckily, many more varieties of cheese are available to us and we now have this perfect cheese knife and complementary spreader to ensure they are prepared and served correctly. The knife is designed to cut hard, medium, and soft paste cheeses. And, while we have not personally tried it, we're sure it can slice Velveeta. Like nobody's business.
