This is the last set of knives we might ever buy. Each of these knives features a razor-sharp VG-10 steel blade wrapped on each side by sixteen layers of high-carbon stainless steel to make the blade practically impervious to dulling or staining. It's important to note that the Rockwell Hardness rating of these knives is 61, making them the hardest blades on the market. The handles are made of black Pakkawood, which is a hardwood infused with resin to produce a non-slip grip. And because the handles are lightweight, in traditional Japanese style, fatigue is significantly reduced. Included in this set of essential knives are: an 8" Chef's knife; a 9" serrated slicing/bread knife; a 3.5" paring knife; and a 6" utility knife. A sharpening steel, kitchen shears, and a bamboo block with 11 horizontal slots completes the set. The block, however, might be retired to hang these on your kitchen wall because in addition to being highly functional, they also look great.
